During her employment at SYEMC, Jones has worn many hats and held many titles while advancing from a student intern in 2014 to the co-op’s manager of Human Resources today. Some of her previous titles include member services representative, marketing assistant, HR assistant, HR representative, and HR generalist. In addition to her HR role at SYEMC, Anna also serves as vice president of the Surry County Human Resources Association.
A Surry County native, Jones graduated from Surry Early College High School in 2015 with an Associate of Arts and a Certificate in Accounting. She then continued her education and completed her Bachelor of Business Administration and Human Services from Gardner-Webb University in 2017, her HRCI aPHR Certification in 2019, and her Master of Business Administration in 2020.
“It is hard to explain the attachment I have to SYEMC, our members, my co-workers, and the small town I call ‘home.’ I have been blessed with an excellent education, a prospering career, and an amazing work family that have all been obtained without having ever left Surry County. I suppose you can say I have grown up at SYEMC, in a sense. While working here, I have graduated high school, college, and graduate school and have gotten married — reaching milestones that I never considered happening when asked, ‘where do you see yourself in five years?’ during my interview process. I am thankful every day to serve a community like ours and look forward to many more years of milestones and celebrations at SYEMC,” said Jones.
When she isn’t busy at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and her husband, Chase, attending Carolina Hurricanes and Thunderbirds Hockey games, and loving on her “fur babies,” Beau and Waylon.
