The power of human connections: Members, Employees, Directors
Cooperatives require teamwork to succeed. This is illustrated in the Touchstone Energy® logo above. Have you ever wondered what the three people in the logo represent? Each has a significant role.
A critical component of a cooperative is the time-tested democratic member control. As owners of the co-op, members have a voice and elect a Board of Directors to govern the co-op. Members also use tools and resources provided by the co-op to better manage their energy use, which helps keep electric rates affordable.
Elected by their peers, these 10 Surry-Yadkin EMC members govern the co-op. They’re your neighbors and friends - your co-op family. SYEMC directors attend monthly board meetings at the co-op, participate in training to stay up-to-date on key industry issues and represent SYEMC daily throughout the service area.
Your co-op employees are some of the most service-oriented professionals around. Each day, they look forward to providing the best possible experience for our members. Additionally, SYEMC personnel aim to provide safe, reliable and affordable electric service to every member, every day.
Over the next several months, you’ll have the opportunity to read about members, directors and employees contributing to the success of your electric cooperative. We’ll feature members efficiently managing their energy use. Get better acquainted with those who serve on your Board of Directors by learning more about their personal and professional lives.
