Payment Options
Bills may be paid by mail. Remit your payment to PO Box 63067, Charlotte, NC 28263. We ask that you please do not mail cash! Checks or money orders gladly accepted.
You are welcome to bring your payment to our office Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Our main office is located at 510 S. Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017.
The payment kiosk offers members a convenient option to pay their bills quickly at any time, day or night. The kiosk is located in the second lane of the drive thru lane at our main office, located at 510 S. Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017. The kiosk, which requires members to have their account numbers for access, accepts cash, checks, and debit or credit cards.
Members can view and pay their bill online. You will need a valid email address and your account number to register.
Pay your bill 24/7 through our automated payment system. Just call 844-959-3022. You will need your account number to make a payment.
Payments can be made at retail locations in two ways.
1. Payments can be made at all area Walmart stores and the La Tapatia store in Dobson, for a minimal fee (set by the retailer). You must present your electric bill when paying. Payments made this way at retail locations will post to your account in 1-3 business days. Please note: if your account is subject for disconnection, please choose another payment method so there will not be an interruption of service.
2. Payments can be made at participating retailers (outlined below) with cash through the VanillaDirect PayTM option. This option allows members to access a barcode through their SmartHub app or web portal, take it to a participating retailer and have the payment applied to the SYEMC account immediately. A minimal fee (set by VanillaDirect PayTM) applies.
We do accept payments made through third-party websites/vendors, but we cannot guarantee when those payments will be received from those vendors. Please note: If your account is subject for disconnection, please choose another payment method so there will not be an interruption of service.
By providing us your bank routing and account number, we can set your account up on Automatic Bank Draft. If you are interested, please call our Billing Department at 336-356-8241 and you can fill out the digital bank draft form. Your account will be drafted based on your billing cycle so contact our office to get that information.
If you would like to have a debit or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) set up on an automatic payment, please visit our online payment section to set this up or contact a representative in our office for assistance by calling 336-356-8241.
Are you a member who lives on a fixed income or would like to know what to expect each month on your power bill? By enrolling in our Budget Billing Plan, you can choose any of the preferred payment options above and ease any worries associated with fluctuating power bills by paying a fixed amount for energy each month. Those members with residential accounts who have at least 12 months of billing history at their current location are eligible to enroll in the Budget Billing Plan. The monthly payment amount is computed from the average of the last 12 month's usage. We perform an annual recalculation of these payments in June of each year with the new payment amounts reflected on the June bills. If you have a credit in June, we will apply that to your account. If your usage increased from the previous year and you used more than was budgeted, we will send you a bill in June stating the amount due. The balance is due in July.
In order to remain on the Budget Billing plan, the monthly payment must be paid when due. Failure to pay on or before the due date will automatically remove your account from this plan.
