Did you know Surry-Yadkin Electric pays a lot more for energy purchased when our members’ demand for electricity peaks? During off peak hours we normally pay much less for wholesale power. So you may be wondering, “If Surry-Yadkin EMC pays less for energy when we aren’t using as much electricity, why can’t I pay a lower rate too?”
You can! Shift to Save, our energy management solution, offers a special Time-of-Day rate for those who shift their energy usage from on-peak to off-peak hours. In the summer, peak hours run from 2 to 6 p.m. and in the winter from 6 to 9 a.m. By conserving during this time on this rate, members are able to see a major impact on their bill.
One simple phone call or email is all it takes to shift and begin saving!
