Qualifications: All applicants must be a dependent of an SYEMC member-owner or a resident of a home served by SYEMC. The applicant must be a high school senior. This is a $1,000 per semester scholarship, for 1 year (total not to exceed $2,000 a year). Scholarship recipients cannot be an SYEMC employee, board member, or immediate family member (spouse or child) of an employee or board member.

Criteria for awarding the scholarship to an individual is based on 50% need, 25% academic and 25% extracurricular activities. The application period opens on April 13, with a deadline for submission by May 31. Applications are judged by the SYEMC Community Projects Committee.
