Qualifications: All applicants must be a dependent of an SYEMC member-owner, a member-owner of SYEMC, or a resident of a home served by SYEMC. The applicant can be a high school senior, or a non-traditional student seeking a new career or continuing education. This is a $1,000 per semester scholarship, for 1 year (total not to exceed $2,000 a year). Scholarship recipients cannot be an SYEMC employee, board member, or immediate family member (spouse or child) of an employee or board member.

Criteria for awarding the scholarship to an individual is based on 75% need and 25% merit. The application period opens on April 13, with a deadline for submission by May 31. Applications are judged by the SYEMC Community Projects Committee.
